Alexium International said it has bagged two additional purchase orders from its major bedding customer of Alexium FR finish after successful full-scale production runs.

“This is a continuation on the progress with the bedding customer we had informed about in June 2015, and is in preparation for expected imminent full commercial ramp-up,” an Alexium press release said.

According to Alexium, the customer had earlier placed an order for Alexiflam for a single product with projected revenues of $200,000-300,000 per month for Alexium.

“As the product testing progressed, they determined there were many other opportunities to use Alexiflam on other fabrics,” Alexium informed.

“This has resulted in multiple production runs and an increase in purchase orders preparing for an even more promising full commercial ramp-up,” it said.

This initial product roll-out remains on target for the third and fourth quarter revenues and has been increased by the customer following outstanding product feedback during a recent home furnishings trade show.

Steve Gravlee, VP of Sales said, “We are excited to report that with each trial, this home furnishings customer sees the value proposition that Alexiflam FR brings to their business as their original scope expands.”

Alexium International Group holds proprietary patent applications for a process developed initially by the US Department of Defense.

It allows for the surface modification and attachment of nano-particles or multiple chemical functional groups to surfaces or substrates to provide functions such as fire retardancy, water proofing, oil proofing, and anti-microbial treatments.

Applications under development include but are not limited to textiles, paints, and packaging, glass and building materials.

Alexium's fire retardant chemical treatments are currently marketed for different fabric markets under the Ascalon, Nycolon, Nuvalon, Polytron, Omnitron and Bactron trademarks. (AR)
