Argentine firm invests US$35mn in geotextiles

Manufactura de Fibras Sintéticas S.A. (MAFISSA), an Argentine firm engaged in production of polymers, synthetic fibres and polyester yarn, has invested US$ 35 million to expand production of geotextiles.

The investment has resulted in generation of 60 new jobs, according to the company.

It said the production at the new facility will be fully used for geotextiles based projects in the country, and will contribute to import substitution process.

The Federal Planning Ministry, the Department of Mining, the Chamber of Mining Services, Argentina Mining Workers Association and the National Techonology University are all working towards creating more jobs in Argentine geotextiels sector.
