Belgium-based and the biggest European polypropylene (PP) supplier, Beaulieu Fibres International (B.F.I.), is participating at CINTE Techtextil 2014, where it will introduce pitch its fibres to the fast-growing Chinese geotextiles and automotive industries.

B.F.I. will exhibit in Hall E-7 Stand D-21 and present unique and tailored solutions designed to add value by reducing costs in combination with enhancing performance to Chinese producers of geotextiles and automotive composites.

B.F.I. says it offers a portfolio of trusted innovations to support China’s manufacturers in addressing the rapid growth in China’s automotive production, as well as the increasing demand for geotextiles resulting from sustained heavy infrastructure investment.

For the automotive segment, B.F.I. has developed PP fibre specifically for each composite blend - PET, natural and glass fibre, which it said will assist automotive OEMs to move towards lightweight and efficient thermoplastic composites.

The fiber has high elongation properties and low rest shrink to increase molding capabilities and this combination also results in low smell, fume and emission, the fibre producer added.

For the geotextiles segment, B.F.I. said its super high tenacity fibre HT8 is unique in offering high tenacity capabilities of minimum 54cN/tex without compromising on elongation (minimum 70%) and is supplied in both, 4,4 Dtex and 6,7 Dtex, while a UV stabilizer can be added on request.

“With PP seen globally as the future leading product because of its chemical inertia, HT8 is creating added value in strength and weight reduction for geotextile applications, B.F.I observed.

PP stable fibres are used for civil engineering, erosion control mats, coastal protection, waste containment fields and agri- and horticulture.

At CINTE Techtextil 2014, B.F.I will also feature its coarse fibre solutions for floor coverings, offering high-level durability and wear resistance particularly for outdoor applications.

Donald De Deygere, Sales Director, B.F.I said, “China is an important and rapidly-growing market, where we see exciting potential for the country’s local and global players to benefit from the added value offered by our segment-leading fibre solutions and our commitment”.

“We are perceived as a trusted and experienced partner within Europe, and we are well-equipped to extend our support to customers in China and Asia Pacific”, he added.

B.F.I. has more than 30 years’ experience in the development and in-house production of fibres for diverse segments. (AR)
