Curt G Joa files proceeding against Fameccanica

Curt G Joa, a disposable products machinery producer, filed an 'inter partes review' against Fameccanica Data, which owns the United States Patent No 6,994,761 – 'Disposable Absorbent Garment such as a diaper or training pants and a process of making the same'.

Inter partes review is a trial proceeding to check patented claims.

The company filed the proceeding to invalidate Fameccanica's patent number 6,994,761 of a breathable, stretchable layer assembly including an inner material layer, an outer material layer and a stretchable material layer disposed there between and including vent sites which are formed by ultrasonic bonding of the inner and outer material layers through the stretchable material layer.

It alleges that other patents, prior in time to United States Patent No 6,994,761, disclose this invention.

This proceeding follows another attack on Fameccanica's European Patent (UK) No 1355604 with the same title.
