DSM Dyneema will be showcasing its recently launched Dyneema anti-stab technology at the 15th Defence Services Asia (DSA) exhibition and conference 2016. Dyneema anti-stab technology is the latest patented anti-stab material for soft armor applications. It meets rigorous and widely used international standards including body armor standards for stab protection and ballistic protection against handgun ammunitions.

A vest incorporating Dyneema anti-stab technology provides outstanding protection against knives, blades and other sharp weapons. Compared to current market solutions made with aramid, it is up to 25 per cent lighter and thinner, and its flexibility provides greater comfort and freedom of movement to the wearer without sacrificing protection, the company said in a press release.

“Over the years, the industry has been seeking significant improvements over existing anti-stab protection solutions offered by aramids, composites and steel. Even in the Asia Pacific region, we received numerous requests from the market for an anti-stab solution that carries the technological benefits that Dyneema is known for in body armor protection; excellent protection at a lighter weight which personnel can use for extended operational periods with greater freedom of movement,” said Nicole Ng, regional business manager, Asia Pacific, DSM Dyneema.

“Dyneema anti-stab technology was developed as part of our radical innovation platform to answer to these growing global needs including the Asia Pacific region, and to enhance the development of next generation multi-threat protection body armor,” Nicole added. (NA)
