Durio launches new type of 4-ply face masks

Durio, melt blown fabric and face mask manufacturer in Malaysia, has launched new 4-ply face masks. In just few months, Durio face masks have received an overwhelming response from the market. Durio was founded with an idea to make Malaysia self-sufficient for mask consumption, and provide good quality masks to the people at a reasonable price.

The founder of Durio, Quek See Kui has invested about 30 million ringgit to set up the company and factory, imported machinery and integrated with local raw material suppliers and started the production with the concept of self-sufficiency in Malaysia.

Durio offers a wide range of face masks, including 3-ply and 4-ply protective masks with multi-colour and customised printed design and N95 filter grade 3D three-dimensional folding masks. In addition to the 501 blue face masks, the most popular ones are the colourful 502 Stylish Series, which are available in purple, pink, orange, yellow, and white. There are also 503 children’s masks, currently available in green and white, according to a press release by Durio.

There are also Malaysia National Day patriotic-themed face masks specially designed for Malaysian -I Love MY and Malaysia Prihatin; adult version 531A and 532A and child version 531K and 532K. Durio is now launching refreshingly brand-new 543 Batik printed 4-ply masks with the theme of Malaysian tradition. The 4-ply face masks with white background and purple printing are more comfortable and better protected.

The new products jointly launched also include 541 Comfort Plus and 542 Active Carbon high-quality 4-ply masks. 541 Comfort Plus is softer and comfortable to wear; 542 activated carbon mask has a deodorising carbon layer to filter out annoying odours. The newly launched 4-ply high-performance masks are currently on sale at the Durio official stores in Shopee and Lazada at a promotional price of only RM31.90 (original price RM49.90). These new products are receiving an overwhelming response after just launched in the market.

The main selling point of Durio face masks is the high filtration level against bacteria and particles, proven with 99 per cent Bacterial Filtration Efficiency (BFE) rate and 95 per cent Particulate Filtration Efficiency (PFE) rate, as well as the low airflow resistance effect that amazed users. Wearers especially appreciate its high breathability when wearing it. It is comfortable and fits the face perfectly, and the flat design elastic ear loop are comfortable to wear even for long period of time. The lengthened design of the nose strip also helps get the best snug fit.

The middle layer melt-blown fabric is the core of a face mask. It filters viruses and bacteria, which determines the quality and protective effect of the face mask. Durio is setting up four units of 1600mm advanced melt-blown production line which can achieve 120 metric tons of monthly capacity. Durio uses only the finest quality of 100 per cent polypropylene, to produce high quality electrostatically charged melt-blown material for long-lasting and high filtration efficiency.

20 units of fully automatic mask production lines make Durio achieve daily production of two million pieces of face mask. Besides, Durio has also invested in advanced equipment to test the filtration rate and airflow resistance of face masks and strictly controls that the face masks produced are of the best quality. In addition to the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) in Malaysia, only Durio has invested in this test equipment. And Durio production environment meets the ISO-13485 standard specifications.
