Fiber reinforced polymers (FRP) bridges are part of the Dutch design exhibition Connecting Concepts, now on in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Connecting Concepts features the Dutch design approach. Using low-tech as well as high-tech materials, it offers contemporary solutions to practical needs.

InfraCoreInside bridges made of FRP are exactly that: an easy-to-install turnkey-solution for maximal ease of use for the client, with a low self weight and with no maintenance required – thanks to FRP!

FiberCore Europe is proud to be part of the exhibition since its conception three years ago. Our exhibit is a scale-model of a bridge, which can nonetheless be loaded, stepped and jumped-on like a full-scale version.

Already travelling around the world for a number of years, and having landed in Ahmedabad, Mumbai and Bangalore (2011), Beijing (2011), Istanbul (2012), Eindhoven (2012) and Sao Paulo (2012), the exhibition is now on at the Museu Histórico Nacional, Rio de Janeiro.

The exhibition is curated by Ed van Hinte who authored the book ‘Lightness’ on the design of lightweight structures. The exhibition is organised by The New Institute, which celebrates the innovative power of architecture, design and e-culture.
