Faisalabad to have Pak-Korea Technical Textile Center

Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) in partnership with the ministry of textiles, government of Pakistan, will establish Pak-Korea Technical Textile Center in National Textile University (NTU) Faisalabad, according to KOICA Alumni Association of Pakistan (KAAP).

The centre will provide support to the business startups in technical sectors and facilitate domestic and export market development for technical textiles, which is an emerging sector in Pakistan.

 Korea will provide assistance worth Rs 600 million in technical assistance, machineries, manpower training, and equipments, according to Pakistani media reports.

The centre will be equipped to provide research and product development services, facilitate relevant standards and provide technical product testing services. Consultancy services in different sub sectors of technical textiles will also be offered along with a resource centre to develop international linkages in relevant areas. (HO)
