Indian Navy & ITTA to host seminar on clothing & footwear

Indian Navy and Indian Technical Textiles Association (ITTA), on behalf of the Indian Ministry of Textiles, will organise a seminar and exhibition on 7-8 January, 2016 at Mumbai, India to create awareness on the Indian Navy's requirement of clothing and footwear in the Indian textile industry, according to a press statement released by ITTA.

The Indian Navy requires specialised regular and functional garments and footwear at work like white cloth PV gabardine, fire resistant cloth, cloth disruptive for MARCOS, track suits and rain suits, safety footwear, boot ankle, etc.

The seminar will have experts from the Indian Navy and ITTA speaking on topics like the clothing and footwear requirements of the Navy, what the technical textile industry can offer to the Indian Navy, procurement procedures and annual budgeting and the aspirations of ITTA.

Representatives from companies like Reliance, Dupont, Venus, Grasim, Tara Safe and others will speak on what the industry can offer to the Indian Navy in terms of clothing. Speakers from the footwear industry will speak on what they can offer in terms of footwear to the Navy.

Exhibitors from the technical textile industry will also get an opportunity to display their products through the medium of an exhibition.

The seminar is also expected to lead to new and advanced product development. (MCJ)
