Polartec, LLC launched its first cooling solution Polartec Delta at Outdoor Retailer, which is a permanent mechanical wicking fabric that evolves how athletes and adventurers dress for performance in warmer climates.

“The new fabric is constructed of an optimal base layer that provides wicking capabilities, reduces skin cling, regulates drying and is highly breathable without any chemical treatments,” a Polartec press release said.

According to Polartec, traditionally, athletes turned to cotton, polyester or synthetic garments in warmer climates, but found them lacking because they are either soaked through or weren't breathable.

“Polartec's Delta sits in the sweet spot between cotton and polyester, shifting what it means to perform in warm weather,” it explained.

Polartec created its first cooling fabric to maximise the effectiveness of the body's natural sweat response.

Delta carries sweat and holds it next to skin where it most closely replicates the human body's natural cooling processes while still allowing the fabric to dry quickly.

“Whether the athlete is a long distance runner or paddle boarding under intense heat Delta provides comfort, reduces wet cling and chaffing and helps control odour,” the company informed.

“With Delta, Polartec is now a four-season brand,” said Polartec senior vice president of operations Doug Kelliher.

“Delta makes working out, running or doing anything in a warm climate in a wet cotton t-shirt a thing of the past,” he added.

“The fabric helps athletes stay in that 'Just Right' zone where they can maximise their performance without overheating,” Kelliher stated.

Polartec, LLC is the developer, manufacturer, and marketer of performance fabrics and its products range from lightweight wicking base layers, to insulation layers, to extreme weather protection. (AR)
