The centre has more than 70 staff and postgraduate students, and a comprehensive range of testing and analysis capabilities.  While visiting CACM, conference delegates will also see a variety of practical workshop demonstrations from companies participating in the conference.

Chemical Specialties Ltd., alongside Scott Bader, will be doing a number of workshop demonstrations including: bonding techniques to metal, plastic and FRP composite substrates with Crestabond primerless methacrylate and Crystic Crestomer urethane acrylate structural adhesives; the effectiveness of specialty fire retardant Crystic gelcoats and Crestapol resin FRP laminate systems; and how an intumescent FR topcoat non-flammable protective layer applied to the surface of a cured fibre reinforced plastic (FRP) laminate, such as Crystic Fireguard 75PA Excel, can significantly delay and even prevent the spread of fire in a fibreglass component.

Chemical Specialties Ltd. has been manufacturing and supplying polyester based products to the fibreglass industry since 1981. From its main production and warehouse site in Onehunga in Auckland, Chemical Specialties supplies and services the whole of New Zealand and the Pacific Islands.
