Spirit changes aftermarket business unit name to GCS&S

Spirit AeroSystems Inc. is announcing a name change for its aftermarket business from Spirit Aftermarket Customer Support to Global Customer Support & Services (GCS&S) to reflect the organization's customer focus.
 
"This name change better represents the services we provide to our global customers. GCS&S is focused on providing the best customer support anywhere, anytime around the globe," said Bill Brown, senior vice president of Spirit Global Customer Support & Services. "This is not just a name change it is how we conduct business. We are committed to delivering the highest level of quality, reliability and customer service for our customers."
 
Spirit AeroSystems Global Customer Support & Services (GCS&S) offers a diverse line of products and services for aerospace design, build, support, and Spares/MRO needs. Spirit is the 'Original Production Manufacturer' of thousands of spare parts sold directly to customers through a licensing agreement with the original equipment manufacturer.
 
Spirit provides sales & distribution of more than 11,000 part numbers to both international & domestic customers, and provides 24/7/365 customer service and AOG support. Spirit GCS&S's repair capabilities cover a wide range of commercial aircraft for both composite and metal structures with expertise in repairing composite nacelles. Spirit maintains an extensive pool of nacelle components for sale, lease and/or exchange to optimize aircraft operations.
 
Spirit expanded its global MRO presence by expanding the size of its Wichita repair station and establishing a repair station at its Prestwick, Scotland facility. In 2009, Spirit partnered with HAECO and its subsidiary, TAECO to establish a regional repair station located near TAECO's facility in Xiamen, China. Called Taikoo Spirit AeroSystems Composite Co., the service center provides convenient, world-class repair services for airlines and aircraft operators across the Asia-Pacific region.
