Suominen, a Finland-based company that manufactures nonwovens, will showcase its unique, naturally intelligent nonwovens portfolio at IDEA 19 to be held from March 25-28 at Miami Beach, Florida, US. The new concept, which makes it possible to embed digital features into Suominen nonwovens, was introduced by the company in September last year.

Suominen’s intelligent nonwovens have unique technical capabilities to combine artificial intelligence with all-new high definition patterning. Almost any digital feature can be embedded into the nonwoven without harming its essential functionalities or aesthetics, said a media statement by the company.

With Suominen intelligent nonwovens, product traceability and product safety can be taken to a new level. It also provides brands with a new kind of sophisticated marketing tool.

Suominen has always been known for its broad portfolio of sustainable products and its unique manufacturing processes. Ever since the launch of revolutionary Biolace brand a decade ago, Suominen has led the way in sustainable nonwovens.

Suominen had recorded net sales of €109.8 million in Q4 2018, an increase of 11.2 per cent from net sales of €98.7 million recorded for Q4 2017. For the financial year 2018, Suominen’s net sales jumped by 1.2 per cent to €431.1 million from €426.0 million in the previous year. (PC)
