First Quality Enterprises has announced the successful closing of its previously announced acquisition of Domtar Corporations’ pulp mill located in Dryden, Ontario, Canada. The Dryden Mill produces high quality Northern Bleached Softwood Kraft pulp for customers in North America.

The Dryden Mill will operate as a stand-alone business within the First Quality Group of companies under the name Dryden Fibre Canada, ULC. There are currently no changes planned to the employees, operations, or business of the Dryden Mill, First Quality said in a media release.

Robert Chisholm, the division manager of Dryden Fibre Canada, ULC, said, “We are very excited about closing on the acquisition of the Dryden Mill. The impressive team at the mill, led by Marie Cyr, is one of the many reasons that we pursued this opportunity, and we look forward to our future and the continued success and growth of the Dryden Mill for generations to come. We also look forward to expanding on our local engagement and to strengthening our relationships with the host community, local Indigenous communities and all the Dryden Mill’s valued partners, customers and suppliers, and community stakeholders.”
