Web Industries TPRC composites research centre

Web Industries, Inc., leading provider of prepreg composite formatting technologies and services, and the ThermoPlastic composites Research Centre (TPRC) in Enschede, The Netherlands, have announced that Web Industries has joined the TPRC.

As a member company, Web will leverage its experience formatting thermoplastic composites for compression moulding and tape placement to accelerate ongoing and future joint development projects, according to a press release.

Web was a key partner in defining the industry standards for precision slitting, spooling, and winding of aerospace-grade thermoset composite slit tape, and the company is a qualified prepreg slit tape provider for nearly all major automated fibre placement lines. Web's experience supporting multiple commercial aircraft programs has allowed it to build a unique knowledge base focused on bridging the gap between composite material producers, manufacturing machine companies, and end-product fabricators.

The TPRC is an open innovation research and development centre focused on advancing the use of thermoplastic composites in industrial and commercial manufacturing. Its member companies and experienced multidisciplinary teams conduct joint development projects researching new thermoplastic composite technologies and applications. Bringing over 25 years of experience formatting prepreg composite materials, Web will offer its extensive material handling and converting knowledge to the centre and its partners.
