Sensors from Dutch team respond to pressure, measure body movement

Wearable, stitchable and sensitive sensors from flexible polymers and carbon fibre bundles have been created by researchers at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands. Like human skin, these respond to pressure, can measure body position and movement, and can be used to measure progress in Parkinson's disease, or sense joint movement in athletes.

Dutch firm Royal DSM introduces trail running shoes with Norda

Netherland’s NLR builds largest thermoplastic piece for Clean Sky 2

NLR has built the largest known single thermoplastic piece for bottom half of the fuselage structure for The Clean Sky 2 Multifunctional Fuselage Demonstrator (MFFD), part of the EU’s Clean Sky 2 initiative. Through the Clean Sky 2 initiative, the aerospace industry is looking to transition from aluminium to next-gen carbon-fibre reinforced composites.
