EDANA elects Michael Staal Axelsen as board chair

EDANA, the leading global association serving the nonwovens and related industries, has elected new governors and a new team of officers for 2019-2020. Mikael Staal Axelsen (Fibertex) accepted the nomination of chairman and will be supported in the role by vice-chairs Omar Hoek (Ahlstrom-Munksjö, France) and David Lamb (Nonwovenn Ltd, UK).

Berry unveils new business model & leadership appointments

Berry has announced a new business structure linked to the company's recent acquisition of RPC, and also unveiled new leadership appointments. The US-based company has appointed Jean-Marc Galvez as the president of its consumer packaging - international division, and Bill Norman as the president of its consumer packaging - North America division.

Sandler announces investment plans for Germany and US

Sandler AG celebrated its 140th company anniversary on May 10, together with 240 guests from the political, economic and social spheres. The company announced that over the next two years, it plans to invest a total of €80 million at the company headquarters in Schwarzenbach/Saale, Germany and Sandler Nonwoven Corporation in Perry, Georgia, US.

Essity is divesting its 50 per cent stake in the partly owned company SCA Yildiz in Turkey to the other part owner Yildiz. Essity will retain a presence in Turkey through its wholly owned Professional Hygiene, Incontinence Products and Medical Solutions operations. The transaction is expected to be finalised in the second quarter of 2019.
