US’ Trillium raises $10.6 mn in series A financing round

US’ Trillium has raised a $10.6 million series A financing round. The first closing totalled $5.5 million and was led by Hyosung Advanced Materials. Capricorn Partners and HELM have joined the series A round to bring the total to $10.6 million. The funding builds on the company’s non-dilutive award of $2.5 million from the US Department of Energy.

US’ Ascend Performance Materials buys major stake in Circular Polymers

US’ Ascend Performance Materials has purchased a majority stake in California-based Circular Polymers, a recycler of post-consumer, high-performance polymers including polyamide 6 and 66, polypropylene and polyester (PET). The deal provides Ascend with a consistent supply of high-quality PCR materials for its ReDefyne sustainable polyamides.
