Bauer Hockey has launched a hockey stick, the Supreme 1S which is reinforced by Textreme carbon fibre fabrics, which helps reduce weight while, at the same time, increases durability and strength of the stick.

Bauer Hockey uses the Textreme technology in all of the three of its product families, Supreme, Vapor and Nexus, to reduce weight to improve the mechanical performance and for superior surface smoothness.

“Through our partnership with Textreme, we are able to incorporate a high performance material into our products that helps us deliver to our consumers the products they expect from Bauer," said Craig Desjardins, GM Hockey.

“In addition to Textreme, another feature of the stick is Elastech Technology which reinforces the Textreme carbon fibres with micro nanotubes, helping to prevent cracks from slashes,” he added.

Also making its return from the 1S predecessor, the MX3, is the Power Sense Core 2 blade which integrates Sense layer materials with Textreme to create a well-balanced and lightweight blade.

A press release from Bauer informed that the Supreme 1S features a new design in order to offer a powerful shot, while featuring a higher kick point in order to allow more energy to transfer.

According to Bauer Hockey, it is the market leading brand within ice hockey and more than 400 NHL players use Bauer sticks reinforced by Textreme.

Bauer Hockey is a designer, marketer and manufacturer of hockey equipment and it developed the first skate with a blade attached to a boot, forever changing the game of hockey.

Performance Sports Group, the parent company of Bauer Hockey, is a publicly-traded company on the New York Stock Exchange and the Toronto Stock Exchange.

Textreme Spread Tow reinforcements are used for making ultra-light composites, since it is flexible and tow-size independent, which enables development of optimised reinforcement solutions. (AR)
