Bemis & Orvis to work on new Silver Sonic Waders

Bemis Associates Inc., the global leader in heat activated films and tapes, has partnered with Orvis for the introduction of their most innovative waders ever, the Silver Sonics.

The Orvis-patented SonicSeam technology features Bemis Sewfree adhesive and Seam Tape in the construction where stitched holes and double reinforced seams were formerly used. Welding with Bemis adhesives allows the seam to maintain a low profile and reduces the potential for fabric abrasion. As a result of this new technology, the Orvis waders will last more seasons and cover more water than ever before.

"A product is only as good as the components used to assemble it. When we started working on the new Silver Sonic Waders we wanted to engage with partners that produced high quality materials in an effort to deliver a final product that was truly best in class. Bemis is just such a partner and their Seam Tape, Sewfree adhesives, and Overlay Film all play a critical role in our new wader," said Tim Daughton, Product Development Specialist of Orvis.

Tom Rosenbauer, Marketing Director added "Durability is a key factor in waders. They are subject to very tough conditions, like walking through prickly brush in order to get to a river or lake, stress when climbing over rocks and logs, and water temperatures from 75 degrees down to 32 degrees. Anglers sometimes wear waders for 12 hours or more."
