Athena Gong, General Manager of Children Baby Maternity Industry Expo (CBME), opened the afternoon’s session with “Overview of the Chinese nursery industry, information and show facts”. Lise Bertelsen of China’s Britain Business Council discussed “Why China? How to Access the Chinese market and business considerations”. Christine Scippo of BPA, UK completed the line up of speakers.
The seminar aims to give the key players of UK’s baby and children products industry an inside look on China’s baby product industry and provide them the know-how on bringing their brands and products to China.
In early 2013, CBME and BPA/ Harrogate Nursery Fair have entered into an alliance to help boost the children, baby industry as a whole. This seminar is part of the series of efforts the two organizations are working on to bring brands across territories.
CBME is now the world’s largest sourcing event for baby, children and maternity products; The Baby Products Association (BPA) is a membership organisation established in the UK in 1945 with the objective of promoting the baby and nursery products sector in both the UK and Europe. And Harrogate Nursery Fair is the UK's only nursery trade event.
“The British baby products manufacturers and suppliers showed great interest in China market. Fifty people registered for the event but close to a hundred turned up. Special thanks to BPA, for arranging this seminar. It is a first step in helping UK brands and suppliers to enter China.” says Ms. Athena Gong, “We are glad to have the first UK pavilion in CBME China 2014”
