A highlight - literally - of the London games this summer, the US team's official Nike Medalist jacket was made in a fabric by JRC-REFLEX/IBR.

The new range of wide retro-reflective stretch fabrics developed by JRC-REFLEX/IBR has made a highly visible entry into active wear collections. The silver gray reflective fabric was used by Nike to make the Flash running jacket and for the Medalist jacket worn by the US Olympic team, which stood on 60 of the 104 podiums during the world's premier sporting event.

Combined with laser-cut ventilation perforations, ultrasound seaming and minimalist labeling, the fully reflective jacket design opens new markets for the Romans, France-based company, well known for its innovative and high-tech reflective fabrics and trimming.

The retro-reflective, microsphere-based fabrics with stretch bring security and striking aesthetics to new levels. The fabrics are available in several colors, from traditional silver gray to super black. All references boast high performance luminosity (above 400 candelas). A new range of fabrics made from recycled polyester will be presented at PERFORMANCE DAYS (November 12-14, in Munich).

JRC-REFLEX/IBR has developed a comprehensive collection of trimming products based on reflective microspheres that go from piping to multiple layer trims with neon fabrics, as well as a diverse array of perforated, pinked, cranté or scallop edge trimming. These products not only offer protection thanks to their high luminosity but also add a techno design twist to performance sportswear, urban wear and workwear.
