Lifethreads LLC is introducing a second generation product line of medical apparel, which offers doctors, nurses and other medical personnel, high value, style, comfort and increased protection.

“The new Contego Collection, which follows last year's introduction of Classic Collection, is treated with an EPA-registered antimicrobial active ingredient,” a Lifethreads press release said.

“This helps protect the fabric from harmful pathogens found within institutional medical environments, while all garments are fluid resistant offering protection against blood, urine, vomit and other fluids,” it added.

Contego offers new styles with stretch tops, pants and cargo pants that are available in six different colours, black, pewter, white, wine, royal blue and navy blue with three additional colours debuting in March 2016.

According to the company, the cargo pants feature multiple pockets in convenient places for storing and accessing items easily.

The premium quality stretch fabric is made out of 55 per cent cotton, 41 per cent polyester and 4 per cent spandex, offering an improved fit and greater comfort for healthcare professionals.

"With the introduction of our new Contego Collection, we are challenging the status quo by offering a new line of highly-styled, comfort plus medical apparel with contemporary colours,” CEO Karan Jhunjhunwala said.

"Our new wide range of garment colours support coding schemes used increasingly in institutional settings to make it easier for patients to identify caregivers,” he too added.

"The Contego Collection brings peace of mind for healthcare professionals as it is a first of its kind antimicrobial, antifungal, fluid resistant and odour control protection garment,” Jhunjhunwala noted.

Lifethreads is a life sciences company focused on infection control and management in clinical healthcare settings by targeting soft surface contact points.

The company manufactures and distributes professional medical apparel, patient garments and linens treated with an EPA-registered antimicrobial active ingredient that protects the surface of the fabric from harmful pathogens. (AR)
