Sicomin to show GreenPoxy resin at JEC World expo

Sicomin, a leading supplier of specialist epoxy systems, is set to present GreenPoxy, its range of bio-based epoxy resins at JEC World 2016 from the March 8 to 10, 2016, in Paris, hall 6, booth F47.

With a bio-based carbon content ranging from 28 per cent to 51 per cent, the highest on the market tested in accordance with ASTM D6866, Sicomin offers the largest choice of bio-systems that can be used for hand-laminating, infusion, pultrusion / filament winding, and HP-RTM.

GreenPoxy is highly appreciated in the sport and leisure industry for its clarity and uncompromising mechanical performances. At JEC World, Sicomin will display a state of the art bio-surfboard, snowboard and wakeboard all produced in collaboration with a number of leading OEM’s, as well as the 2014 JEC Innovations Award winning Skateboard, all made using GreenPoxy resins, according to a press release.

The company will also showcase the new SR 1125, an advanced self-extinguishing fire retardant epoxy, which is unique to composites as it can be used for infusion processes at room temperature unlike many other fire retardant resins that must be applied through hand lamination. SR 1125 features a low viscosity that ensures a steady, predictable and consistent resin flow. Due to this unique formulation, SR 1125 can pass through reinforcement fabrics without any filtering of the fire retardant components.

SR 1125 has been developed by Sicomin predominately for the production of large parts for the civil, construction, and rail markets where high quality components, fire resistance, and excellent mechanical properties are essential. (GK)
