Technical Absorbents Ltd (TAL) will be exhibiting its Super Absorbent Fibre (SAF) technology at the upcoming Medicall Expo in Chennai, India.

The event – the premier hospital needs and equipment exposition, and the biggest of its kind in India – will take place at TamilNadu between 2nd and 4th August.

TAL provides extremely high levels of innovation and product development expertise to the advanced wound care market with its SAF technology. Its basic functionality as a fibre is its ability to absorb up to 200 times its own weight in water, and 60 times its own weight in saline, at an extremely fast absorption rate.

SAF can be precisely tailored into a diverse range of medical fabric formats, which offer the potential for enhanced design and performance. Within the advanced wound care market, SAF is the basis for soft, high absorption and compressible wound care dressings, for optimum wound exudates management, to aid the healing process and prevent further bacterial growth.

“SAF really is the essential basis for true absorbent media innovation within the advanced wound care sector,” explains Technical Sales Manager Dave Hill. “As such products are mainly fibrous based, it enables SAF to be integrated exceptionally well throughout the final product, resulting in excellent conversion and minimum wastage.

“Advanced wound care fabrics incorporating SAF technology offer truly unparalleled levels of consistent absorption performance and media integrity.”

TAL will be exhibiting on stand G1, and is looking to meet with anyone from the industry that has an interest in the advantages gained by using SAF within advanced wound or other medical applications. It would also be interested in learning more about the market for its technology within India.
