Andritz, an Austria-based supplier for equipments, systems and services to pulp and paper manufacturing units, has received an order to supply technological equipments to SCA's Ostrand pulp mill in Timra, Sweden in the next few weeks for expansion of the production capacity of the plant, according to a press statement released by the company.

Andritz will be supplying an extension of the existing recovery boiler, wood yard equipment, a major upgrade of the white liquor plant and a pulp dryer with innovative, energy saving technologies that substantially reduce the plant's operating costs.

The order, if successfully completed, will help double the production capacity of SCA's plant from 430,000 tonnes to 900,000 tonnes. It will make SCA's Sweden plant the largest softwood kraft pulp mill in the world.

The mill is scheduled to start working by the second quarter of 2018. It is considered to be one of the largest industrial investments in Sweden, and the largest ever in northern Sweden. (MCJ)
