ASTM committee names James Goddard as chairman

ASTM International Committee D35 on Geosynthetics has named James Goddard, a consultant and a member of ASTM since 1989, as its chairman, according to a press statement issued by ASTM International.

Goddard has served as the chief engineer of Advanced Drainage Systems, and is a consultant since 2010. He is a member of National Transportation Research Board and the Plastic Pipe Institute.

He has received awards for his work on D35 and Committee F17 on Plastic Piping Systems. He has done his Bachelors from North Carolina State University.

The committee has over 340 members, representing 27 countries, and includes 10 technical subcommittees that oversee over 145 standards related to the use of roadway stabilisation and repair, erosion control, soil drainage and reinforcement, hydraulic barriers and more. (MCJ)
