Following on from winning last year’s JEC Innovation Public Prize as finalist in the Aerospace Process category for manufacture of a fully composite FST compliant 16g aero seat back, Cecence is once again among 33 finalists selected by a cutting-edge selection process at JEC World Innovation Awards 2020. Cecence will be exhibiting at JEC Paris.

This year Cecence has been nominated in the Railway Vehicles & Infrastructure Category for its Composite Overhead Line Catenary System (winner of the Composites UK Innovation in Design Award at the end of 2019) and is one of only four UK companies who have made it through to the finals.

The innovative Light Rail System could save as much as £1 million per 10km of track, is lighter and more cost effective to install, and delivers an improved aesthetic through decreased infrastructure clutter. The integrated solution incorporating cabling, support structures and connectors delivers reduced maintenance costs and has no requirement for a tensioning system. It also provides an opportunity for more creative design and styling, and for the use of bio composites. The jury has one month to select a winner in each category and the innovations will be recognised at the awards ceremony in Paris in March this year.
