One of the leading manufacturers of technical textiles, Garware-Wall Ropes Ltd (GWRL), has secured CE certification for its polypropylene geotextile range of products which would enable the company to further strengthen its international presence by seamlessly circulating its products across 30 countries of the European Economic Area (EEA), according to media reports.

Polypropylene geotextile are a range of high performance woven products specified by civil engineers for a wide variety of applications used in building and construction works such as – separation, filtration, drainage, protection, stabilisation and reinforcement.

The letters CE are the abbreviation of French phrase ‘Conformite Europeene’ which means ‘European Conformity’. The CE mark, is a mandatory conformity marking for certain products and acts as a trade passport for undertaking sales in EEA.

The CE marking brings in a huge breakthrough for the Pune-based Garware-Wall Ropes as it enables the company to comply with a set of requirements and procedures in designing and manufacturing thereby eliminating various conflicting national regulations. The certification also comes in as a huge assurance that the products are of the highest safety standards which in turn reduces damage and liability claims.

Tiru Kulkarni, Vice President – GEO Division, Garware-Wall Ropes, said the recognition would allow the company to penetrate further into the European markets and extend its international footprint. (SH)
