PolyOne to show healthcare technologies at MD&M West

PolyOne Corp, a global provider of specialised polymer materials will showcase its range of technologies for the healthcare sector at Medical Design and Manufacturing (MD&M) West 2015 this week at booth 1901.

At MD&M, PolyOne will show Versaflex VDT thermoplastic elastomers which improve ergonomics and performance by increasing vibration damping to absorb shock.

“This specialty material also allows manufacturers to eliminate secondary assembly steps and streamline their processing,” PolyOne informs.

Another product, the NEU View Radiopaque Translucent Solutions offers catheter producers an enhanced technology that provides excellent visibility, both optically and under X-ray.

This technology eliminates the need for co-extrusion of a radiopaque stripe, reducing scrap rates and improving production efficiency.

In addition, PolyOne is announcing a new agreement with Total Polymer Solutions which will distribute healthcare solutions to its customers from the NEU Specialty Engineered Materials business of PolyOne.

Percept Authentication Technologies, another product on display, helps customers reduce the risks caused by counterfeit goods and protect against fraud.

Percept solutions offer brand owners a readily available method to authenticate their products overtly or covertly, while helping to maintain brand equity and control supply chain issues.

It will also show Valiant healthcare packaging solutions for sterile medical device trays and diagnostic kits include options with high barrier technology for pharmaceutical unit dosage and combination device packaging.

“Royalite flame retardant, UL- listed sheet materials provide the chemical resistance, formability and impact strength needed for large medical and electronic housings,” it says.

“Both Valiant and Royalite offerings meet the high quality standards and regulatory requirements of the medical industry,” PolyOne notes.

InVisiO services and solutions help brand managers and designers leverage colour design to reinforce brand recognition and increase functionality of their products by making the device more intuitive to use.
