A conference dedicated to composites in the automotive industry will be held from October13-14, 2016 in US city of Tennessee, which is home to the Institute for Advanced Composites Manufacturing Innovation (IACMI). This event is being organised by the JEC Group as part of its strategy to specifically address each composites end-using market.

There will be 25 speakers who will cover topics like 'Multimaterial Solutions in Automotive', which will address concerns of using both composites and metal components for optimised light weighting, toughening composites via hybridisation or replacing traditional fasteners with adhesive bonding.

Another topic, 'Incorporation of Carbon Fiber in Structural Parts in the Automotive Industry' will be discussed with a focus on measuring structure health, new repair and recycling technologies.

On the second day, three workshops will be held to encourage interaction among the participants around the subjects of affordable composites; development and industrial commercialisation of composites materials; and partnerships and innovations in composites manufacturing. (AR)
