Venta Medical acquires Formed Polymer Solutions

Venta Medical a turnkey medical device contract manufacturer said it has acquired Formed Polymer Solutions (FPS), which offers specialised thermal forming capability.

According to Venta, Formed Polymer Solution’s specialised thermal forming capability gives Venta the added capability to expand its business with custom components and formed polymer sub-assemblies.

"Last October, our parent company, Laserage, acquired the laser processing unit of Directed Light, Inc. (DLI) which is being co-located with Venta,” Karl Im, president of Venta Medical said.

He added, “And now with the integration of FPS’s capability, Venta can serve a wider base of customers seeking to outsource their projects to a one-stop-shop operation.”

"The acquisition of FPS gives us the ability to manufacture a wider range of thermoplastic components with micro precision requirements," he noted.

"Joining the Laserage family will give us the platform to serve more clients outside of our area, while better serving our current clients with full turnkey manufacturing capability,” said Peter Swenson, founder of FPS.

"With Laserage's precision laser processing and the enhanced capability added by FPS to Venta Medical, we envision a successful future for the clients we serve and our combined companies," he too added.

The Laserage executive team views the acquisition as a strategic move for Venta, strengthening its overall contract manufacturing capabilities.
