Finnish high performance fiber-based materials producer Ahlstrom announced an increase in prices of its air and liquid filter media.

The price increase will be up to 10 percent, depending on markets, products and the agreements in place and will be effective starting from November 1, 2014.

Ahlstrom said prices have been hiked to compensate for the continued high level of raw material costs, utilities-related inflation and regional currency impacts.

Air and liquid filter media are used in air applications including high efficiency air, gas turbine, and industrial air as well as liquid applications for laboratory and life sciences, water treatment, and various process industries.

Ahlstrom's advanced filtration business has production sites in six countries.

In 2013, Ahlstrom's net sales from continuing operations amounted to EUR 1 billion and its 3,500 employees serve customers in 24 countries.
