Kimberly-Clark Australia, marketer of the Kleenex, Viva, Kleenex Cottonelle, Huggies, U by Kotex, Poise and Depend brands, was awarded the FSC Supplier of the Year award at the annual 2013 Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Australia Excellence Awards held in Melbourne.

This marks the third prestigious sustainability award that Kimberly-Clark Australia has won this year, adding to Banksia Award for Leading inSustainability for large Organisations and The Australian Business Award for Environmental Sustainability.

The FSC Awards reward and recognise organisations that exemplify the spirit and intent of the FSC certification system, the world's most rigorous environmental and social standard for responsible forest management.

Natalie Reynolds, Chief Executive Officer of FSC, said "FSC Australia is proud to once again, via an independent judging panel, reward Kimberly-Clark Australia for the enormous contribution made driving responsible forest management in Australia by virtue of this prestigious award. Kimberly-Clark has taken a strong leadership role in the procurement and supply of FSC Certified products both here and internationally and they should be highly commended for that role".

Since 2011, Kimberly-Clark Australia has partnered with WWF as a Foundation Supporter of the Love Your Forests campaign and, since then, has helped raised consumer awareness of the importance of sourcing tissue and paper products from responsibly managed forests, and proactively promoting consumers to choose products with FSC certification. In 2012, this partnership was extended to include Kimberly-Clark's business-to-business division, Kimberly-Clark Professional to help educate business and government.

Robbert Rietbroek, Vice President and Managing Director of Kimberly-Clark Australia and New Zealand said "As the largest tissue manufacturer in the world, Kimberly-Clark is committed to ethical sourcing and using the power of our well-known brands like Kleenex, Kleenex Cottonelle, VIVA and Scott to promote responsible forest management through FSC. We're honoured to be recognised by the Forest Stewardship Council for our leadership."

Kimberly-Clark Australia was awarded for its proactive approach to managing sustainability issues and opportunities right across its value chains and collaboratively working with leading NGOs on ethical sourcing issues.
