November 25th, the facility of TenCate Advanced Armour Primarette (France) received the Highly Protected Risk Award from FM Global. Earlier this year, this award has been presented to the spinning and non-woven factory of TenCate Protective Fabrics USA in Senoia (Georgia). The number of TenCate companies with this award has thus grown again.

Along with FM Global, Andre Old Hergelink (corporate risk manager TenCate ) carries out regular checks on all operating TenCate companies. He also gives preventive advice to mitigate corporate and personal risks and thus prevent damage. If the companies meet all the highly protected risk directives for damage prevention issued by FM Global worldwide, they receive the Highly Protected Risk Award.

Granting of the award means that the location is secure, has an adequate sprinkler installation and that all measures are taken to prevent or at least minimize damage by fire or a natural disaster or keep. Moreover, it results in reduction of the insurance premium.

Positive process

‘TenCate Advanced Armour is proud to receive this award’, says managing director EMEA&APAC Steen Tanderup. ‘We see it as a result of a lot of positive developments and efforts on our French site. It has been a challenge to get this far, but it has been a positive process as well as a learning experience for all involved. We have improved our safety and security along with a lot of good developments on housekeeping. Not only does it make the site a more pleasant and motivating place to work, but it is also an attractive place to invite customers and contacts from our business network.’

In 2012 too, three TenCate companies received the FM Global Award: TenCate Advanced Composites in Morgan Hill (California), the weaving plant of TenCate Protective Fabrics in Zebulon (Georgia) and the finishing plant of TenCate Protective Fabrics in Molena (Georgia). TenCate Grass in Dayton (Tennessee) and TenCate Geosynthetics in Cornelia and Pendergrass (both Georgia) were the three in 2011. In 2014, again a number of TenCate companies is to meet the stringent requirements of FM Global.
